Rural Counselling using CBT, mindful mood balance techniques for grief & loss, anxiety in older people, info for Sir Hubert Wilkins & Ulooloo .
We acknowledge we are privileged to stand and live on the spiritual land of the Ngadjuri nation, and acknowledge and show our respect of elders past and present. We encourage all visitors to our area to treat this country with the reverence due to the spiritual being who nurtures spirit, soul, and body.
Counselling
Grief and Loss - this includes loss of loved ones, plus other losses such as threats of loss of property, loss of loved landscapes, farm/business income, failing eye sight etc. Home visits can be arranged.
Child & Adolescent counselling
Primarily based on techniques used in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for adults and with younger children non-threatening behavioural therapy as recommended by Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
Mindfulness therapy for low to moderate experienced depression and anxiety.
The counselling is set in the former Hallett Primary School, set against the beautiful backdrop of the Razorback ranges, and mystical Mount Bryan, site of an Indigenous massacre and home to Australia's most significant gum tree, the 4,000 year old Eucapyptus Globulus, spp bicostata.
Bird life: There are the character-filled apostle birds who make pets of Hallett residents, plus pink robins, plains wanderers, butcher birds, painted falcons, to name a few in our range of ecosystems an easy drive away, enrolee to gold fields, and the historic Wilkins cottage.
Hallett Store, now a local coffee and craft shop with its fantastic display of local craft and produce.
Willogoleechie Hotel open under new management, and delightful antique and cafe corner shop.
Our Hallett Olde School Home, a magnificent bluestone 1890's school which was the former Hallett Primary School, home to four ghosts, and is set in a garden based on biodynamic practice and medicinal herbs. Some herbs are for sale, or you can walk the labyrinth with permission.

My service offers CBT , behavioural, or mindfulness-based approaches for for people experiencing grief and loss, general concerns about mental well-being, and child & adolescent development.
All approaches are given in a private, confidential environment, and involve my role as a counsellor being there for you, listening to your story, and helping you to explore and work towards finding the best way forward.
This may be problem solving, or if necessary looking at specialist services that are relevant to your situation, and providing a referral.
